Forged Warrior Of The Week

This week’s WARRIOR of the WEEK is Brett “Mad Dog” Peters.Screen Shot 2015-10-31 at 4.52.33 PM

He’s definietly EARNED IT as he comes in early, stays late, and GET SH*T done!

We took a moment to catch up with Brett to get the low down on some things…

Brett, if you were to have a billboard put up that could say anything, what would it say and why?

Your Scars Are Your Strength. I would have it say this because I have been through some definite lows in my life that have left both physical and emotional scars, But I have been thankful for every single one as they have made me strive to better myself to ensure that whatever hurt me has no chance to do it again. Have to find the Blessings in disguise.

What have you loved about Forged thus far?

I have loved the overall broadness of the workouts and the camaraderie. Normal gyms you go to and everyone is trying to outwork the other guys or be the Alpha of the Gym. At Forged every person pushes one another to be the best they can be and does not look down upon anyone else as we are all there for the same goal in the end.

What do you do to stay so consistent with the gym and your training?

I constantly remind myself of the many reasons I have to stay healthy in my life. Just to make sure that I am around to enjoy every day that I can of the life I have been given, especially with my new and first baby on the way. Want to make sure I am around for her.

What does training mean to you besides all of the benefits of getting jacked shoulders, a ripped chest, big guns, powerful legs, ect?   What does it mean to YOU to be STRONGER, more athletic, ect?

It means that I will just have an overall better feeling about myself and be able to have that confidence that being healthy and in shape gives you. Having all the bells and whistles of being jacked yea that’s great and all, but I just want to make sure I am maintaining a healthy body that makes me happy.

You’ve made some BIG strides inside Forged just within the last couple of weeks, can you share with us some of the success you’ve experienced?

I have had 2 bigger moments so far at Forged, those being strict pull-ups, and rope climbs. Before Forged I could do maybe 8 non-strict pull-ups and stop as it just was not my thing, but Forged has pushed me to focus on form and given me the proper instruction so I have no doubt I will hit my goal of 15 Strict Pull-Ups at the end of my 4-weeks. Rope climb I have not done since around 5th grade so that was also an interesting new movement for me that the guys at Forged have helped me on and I can do 4 rounds of LEGLESS rope climbs with no issues. Feels Awesome!

Everyone’s 1st day inside Forged is a bit “interesting”…  Can you share with us YOUR experience from your first day within Forged?

Walking in obviously you do not know what to expect. The sweat is rolling, the weights are slamming, and the chalk is flying. A new environment for sure if you are just used to like an Anytime Fitness or 24HR like I was. Travis and Matt introduced themselves and walked me through the warm-up that is required every morning and got a basis of what my goals were and where I wanted to be when it was all said and done. The Workout was GREAT as the guys are there with you step by step working on form and giving tips on how to get the most out of each movement. By the end you are gassed and just ready for the next time you get to come in. Travis and Matt are very knowledgeable and are great Motivators and Coaches.

Thinking about YOUR “Big Picture”,  what are your overall goals that you want to achieve.

My biggest goals are just gaining more strength and getting healthier all around. Travis and Matt have helped by providing diet plans and a solid base of workouts to really get you to that next level where you are looking to go.

What gets you PSYCHED up the most?  What drives you and gets you going?

The idea that I am going to be a Dad has helped immensely in my Motivation. I wake up to an Alarm every day bright and early 4:45 a.m. that says Who Do You Want To Be. It reminds me of what I am striving for to be the best role model and example for my daughter that I can be. I get to the gym, work hard through my workout, and then hit up a full day of work. In everything that I do I think to myself, “Is this the example you want to set?”

Up till now, what has your FAVORITE most memorable moment been inside the gym thus far?

My favorite moment thus far was the day we did the sled and Matt wanted me to go up in weight so I slapped on 6 plates and when I got back his comment was, “We have a 37 year old that can do 8.” Soooooo of coarse I threw on 8 and we pushed all the way up to 603lbs on the sled that day. But my quote to everyone on doing more weight at Forged is always A 37 year old did it

FINALLY…  If there was one piece of advice you could give someone else for more success whether that be in the gym, in life, business, whatever, what would that be?

[bctt tweet=”Don’t talk about it, Be About it. There are so many people in this life that say Tomorrow I will start towards my goals…”] The only day is TODAY! You have to give it 110% all the time, and if you do I promise at the end of it all you will find success!

Hell yeah!
